New Venue for TRCCC
Ok guys, so lets keep this neat.
So for those that dont know. TRCCC has grown up over the last few years and the time feels right to start grabbing a spot of our own. After the trip to PE our eyes were opened to the fact that this could be done. We started scouting around and we were looking in the area to at least fall under the Tokai name.
The best and most appropriate seemed to be the Sports Club on the main road. I finally made contact with their Chairman and discussed the possibility of racing on their abandoned tennis court. So far the discussions have gone well and it looks like this could actually happen.
Where we are now is: The courts will be cleaned, as soon as this is done we can start with a fun race day. We need to show the club that we mean business and not just a bunch of fly by night oaks.
Yes it is only one court, but we will make it work for sure.
Future plans will consist of racing there on a permanent base. We can look into a container for a driver stand and possibly laying a track, but as mentioned, we just need to talk to them and share our vision of what we want to do. I feel very confident about this and think that this will take the club to a different level.

Re: New Venue for TRCCC
I can't wait for this to happen, but we waiting on the court cleaning before we can go any further. I'm so excited to be able to race on a decent surface again, clean no dust surface, major traction, any tyre will work on that surface, the cars will just work, period!!!!
I would just like to say though right off the bat, when we go laying a permanent track onto it, that it gets done right from the beginning, no shortcuts. Not to diss PE or anything, but there were some shortcuts taken just because the guys wanted to race, and the facility they have now could've been at least 10% better if it was done right. So please, if you going to be part of this whole process, do it right first time, we won't get a second shot at it. I am 200% behind this, and am willing to give it my all, but I will step back if it's going to be a stuffup, and they can carry on without me. Ok, enough negatives from me, I've had my say.
So, who's keen????
I'll post up track design tomorrow once I've downloaded it.

F$ck me gently with a chainsaw !!
That track looks awesome Sam! Has it been designed to fit on the court? Man now I really can't wait!! But I agree with doing it properly the first time and getting it perfect before we start using it. Once we have had a taste of that surface there won't be any stopping to fix anything! Ous will be on it all the time. I'm also game for helping as much I possibly can anytime and I'll be more productive than I was on new years day I promise

Do it!
Go for it guys!
I really wish I could be there to help make this thing happen, but I know that the club is in good hands. The members are keen and a great bunch of guys, so I have faith in you all!
Can't wait to see some pics of the track and the 1st event.
DO IT!

Re: New Venue for TRCCC
Very lekker track design. There are opportunities for variations in that layout - maybe some of the piping/battens or whatever can be temporary so that we can run track variations from time to time. Would be lekker to keep alive the TRCCC "streetsmarts" tradition of adapting to a track change really quickly...

Definately glitch, that's just the initial design, there's plenty of cutouts that can be put in to spice things up for M3 cup purposes!!

The track is scaled at a 3m width, we will use our battens to make the track to start with, and depending how the negotiations go with the club, maybe in the future we could have permanent curbs with options for different tracks.

Re: New Venue for TRCCC
A dream come true: Just must agree with Glitch, i think we should include oval and extra sweeping bends design. Also concern is the track genuinely 3m wide design as the layout look awesome, very technical as per TRCCC spec's.Cant wait to race

Hey Scoobs - Each block on sam's pic is 3mx3m, the court is 36mx18m, so it fits like a glove
