Coastal Cup 2012 is finally here!!
After much discussion it's finally coming together.
Thanks to everyone for your input and enthusiasm in getting this show on the road.
The CC this year will branch out into 3 regions and can be called a true Coastal Cup for the first time.
It will be hosted in Cape Town, Port Elizabeth and KZN and everybody along the coast is welcome to join in. This series is aimed at promoting the hobby we all love so much along the coastal regions in a lighter hearted format, based more on the fun element rather than on the hardcore rules rules rules formats in the other series' run around the country. The classes being run are based on an amalgamation  of the 3 regions' classes, with a basic set of specs/rules for each class. One of the other main elements of this series is to keep it as cheap as possible for all concerned , as we all know how much traveling to an away event can cost.
Event dates and venues:
Cape Town - 28, 29 April - Indoor track
KZN - 14, 15 July - DMCC(tbc)
Port Elizabeth - 3,4 November - DRCCC
The event will be run over two days starting at 1pm on the Saturday with 2 heats of qualifiers, then on the Sunday a 3rd heat of qualifying and 1 final(at time of going to print, may change). The tracks will be open early on the Saturday morning for free practice until 1 hour prior to the start of the event. Drivers briefing, where applicable host club rules/etiquette will be communicated, will take place 30 mins prior to the start of the event. Entries for each event must reach the host club 2 weeks prior to the event taking place.
Main classes scoring points towards floating trophy:

23t Super Stock

Medals will be handed out to all top 3 finishers in all mains, along with drivers of the day medals. The floating trophy will be awarded to the region with the most points based on a percentage of participants per region to keep it fair.

Looks like we'll probably be adding 17.5t to the fun class list. A couple of the PE guys have asked why it's not there as it's one of their most popular classes.
