New track layout (Image thumbnails)

Anyone else have the privilege to test out the new track layout?

I was fortunate enough to get in some practice this morning. The in-field is really technical, with not too many places to make a pass unless the driver in front makes a mistake. The hair pin at the end of the main straight will make for a hair raising over-taking opportunity if you are brave enough to get on the brakes really late.

The small chicane/kink before the right hander that takes you to the left hair pin can catch you out. Keeping a straight line should see you through just fine.

With track temperatures of around +30 degrees Celsius; I was getting substantial grip with the Team Associated NTC3 RTR treaded tires and soft inserts.

Sorry been busy

We all drove the track on Tuesday night after we changed it.

We all drove it anti clock wise and it was nice. I then drove it clock wise and found that it was nicer and one can attack the track more.

But it's one of those designs that works both ways. Very very nice and enjoyable to drive!!!

No worries, life has the habit of being like that.

During my testing, I drove it anti-clockwise only. Noticed considerable tyre wear on the right tyres due to the majority of the faster corners being left handers.

If weather permits, I'll try come early tomorrow evening and drive the track clockwise to make for more even tyre wear.

Then when the boys start racing, I'll marshal.

The line I showed you the past Tuesday regarding the last three corners before the main straight.

It was a very defensive line, as it closes any doors for a faster driver to come up on your inside and take a faster racing line. I also found that I was the most consistent when taking that line.

If you are coming tomorrow, it would be nice if I could do a few laps and you can see if I'm on the right line or not.
