Can an F104 be converted to GT ?

I have almost a spare F103 GT chassis , so I took it apart to see what bits will fit on a F104 ?
The F104 front suspension can't be used as it's to narrow , but a F103GT front suspension fits the F104 . Check out the pic's
F104 with GT uprights is 170mm wide way to narrow ??









The win at the back is seeing the F104 rear wheels are a larger diameter than the F103 . The spacer that is used under the F103 motor mount is not required . When I have a chance I'll add up what all the bits cost . Got to be a cheap option for an alternate class !!!

I'm am by no means trying to push this through ! It's just interesting what's possible .

Just out of interest you are looking at R500 to convert either a F103 or 4 to GT spec

It all depends what you are starting with ??? And for you I'm sure you have some Mini rear axles somewhere , so that's one part you don't need to buy !!!
The F103 diff axle just needs it's thread shortened a few mm and can be used .

We can sit down and work it all out ? I was also going to order some bits so I can get my second one up and running ?

Me and matt and hamish have f103's.

Paul and I have F104 F1 cars and I have almost two GT chassis , that's one each for Paul and I . I'll try and get the one running for Thursday ??? We can all give it a try .
